The Effretiker bell tower belongs to the reformed church in Effretikon and is also a lookout tower in the municipality of Illnau-Effretikon in the canton of Zurich .
Emergence
Ernst Gisel from Zurich won the 1957 architecture competition . The building was completed in 1961.
situation
The tower made of concrete is 20 meters high. The viewing platform is ten meters high and 46 steps lead up to it.
The church (with tower) can be reached from the Effrektion train station in about five minutes. From the viewing platform you have a view of the city of Effrektion. Five bells from the H. Rüetschi AG Aarau foundry from 1960 are housed in the open church tower . They sound in the tones: B 0 , d 1 , f 1 , g 1 , b 1 .
