The Irchel observation tower stands on a hill above the Buchemer Irchel , the municipality of Buch am Irchel in the canton of Zurich . The first tower was built in 1930 by Jakob Zimiker with the help of the SAC Section Winterthur. The current tower has been standing since 1983.
situation
The steel lattice tower is 63 meters high, the viewing platform is 28 meters high and was inaugurated in 1983. A panorama board is attached there.
Hiking trails lead from Buch am Irchel to the observation tower in around 15 minutes . The viewing platform is climbed over 150 steps and 5 intermediate landings. The tower offers a view from the Feldberg in the Black Forest to the Tödi . Next to the tower is a fireplace with several benches.
