The Altberg observation tower is a 30 meter high observation tower on the Altberg in the municipality of Dänikon in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. It is one of the youngest observation towers in the Canton of Zurich.
The tower, which cost 660,000 francs, was financed through donations from communities, companies and private individuals. A display next to the tower lists all donors from 100 francs. There is also a small plaque above every step of the stairs, mentioning all donations of CHF 500.
Ascent
The viewing platform is reached via 147 steps and four intermediate landings.

Since 2011, the viewing platform at a height of 30 meters has contained four panorama boards donated by various companies.
Surroundings
The Altberg Waldschenke is located next to the tower. It is open every day except Tuesday.
The Altberghütte of Naturfreunde Schlieren is located below the tower.
getting there
The observation tower can only be reached on foot or by bike. There are parking spaces in all the surrounding communities, from which the tower can be reached in around 30 to 45 minutes.

To the north, the villages of Otelfingen , Boppelsen , Dänikon , Buchs , Dällikon and Adlikon can be seen. The warehouses with the high watch can be seen in the background . In the southeast you can see Zurich , in the south the towns of Schlieren , Urdorf , Geroldswil , Dietikon , Heitersberg , Spreitenbach and Killwangen . With good visibility you can see the peaks of the Alps from Säntis to Doldenhorn .
