The Nuremberg / Feucht motorway triangle (abbreviation: AK Nürnberg / Feucht ; short form: Kreuz Nürnberg / Feucht ) is a motorway triangle in Bavaria in the south of the Nuremberg metropolitan region . The federal highway 73 ( Frankenschnellweg ) ends here and merges into the federal highway 9 ( Berlin - Leipzig - Munich ).

geography

It is located in the municipality of Wendelstein in the district of Roth in Middle Franconia . The surrounding towns and communities are Feucht and Schwarzenbruck . The cross is located about 15 km southeast of downtown Nuremberg and about 70 km north of Ingolstadt .

The Autobahn triangle Nürnberg / Feucht has junction number 54 on the A 9 and number 49 on the A 73.

Design and state of development

The A 73, which runs in a south-easterly direction from Nuremberg, joins the A 9, which runs in a north-south direction, in the form of a " right-hand trumpet ". The connecting curves are single-lane and two-lane in the direction of Feucht. The approaching A 73 has two lanes in each direction, the A 9 three. Immediately to the north of the triangle includes the Autobahnraststätte Nürnberg / wet on the A. 9

The structure was erected in 1978 and 1979.

Passing under the railway

Traffic route bundling between BAB 9 and high-speed route not far from the Nuremberg / Feucht motorway triangle

The railway - New Nuremberg-Ingolstadt passes under the A 73 and the western compound curves of the A 9 in a 133 m long crossing structure (range 15.4 kilometers), directly in parallel with the A. 9

The structure was erected in a closed frame construction ( cover construction ) in a construction period of 17 months. To avoid interfering with the groundwater balance, trough structures are attached to the north (from km 15.2) and south (up to km 15.8). The total length of the underpass is 540 meters. Bypass roads were built during the construction period. The new road bridges were put into operation between October and December 2001.

In the area of the connecting curves , in addition to the crash barriers , so-called cargo-dropping-restraint systems were installed. These 3 m high steel planks are intended to prevent parts of the load from falling onto the route that can be driven at 300 km / h.
