Azé is a town and commune Déléguée in the French commune of Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne with 3419 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Azées .

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Azé merged with Château-Gontier and Saint-Fort to form the Commune nouvelle Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Azé was part of the arrondissement of Château-Gontier and the canton of Azé (until 2015: canton of Château-Gontier-Est ).

Azé is located on the Mayenne River and is a banlieue of Château-Gontier . The municipality of Azé was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Fromentières in the north, Gennes-sur-Glaize and Châtelain in the east, Coudray in the southeast, Ménil in the south, Saint-Fort in the southwest, Château-Gontier in the west and Loigné-sur-Mayenne in the northwest.

Route Nationale 162 runs through the Commune déléguée .
