Börnichen , Bórnice in Lower Sorbian , is an inhabited part of the municipality of Lübben (Spreewald) in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg . The place is part of the official settlement area of the Sorbs / Wends .
location
Börnichen is located in Niederlausitz , about four kilometers northeast of the city center of the city of Lübben. Surrounding towns are to the municipality Märkische Heide belonging districts Dürrenhofe in the north, Krugau and Biebersdorf in the Northeast, the New Zaucher district Briesensee the east, Radensdorf in the southeast, the town of Lübben in the southwest, Hartmannsdorf in the west and the town Schlepzig in the northwest.
Börnichen is on the L 42 state road, which connects the place with Lübben and Schlepzig. The federal highway 87 runs one kilometer south . Börnichen is located in the Börnichen nature reserve of the same name , through which the Spree flows, among other things .
history
The Börnichen settlement emerges from the "Forsthaus Börnichen", which was built in 1833 as the chief forester of the Lübben rent office . In 1844 Börnichen had eleven residents in one building and was parish in Schlepzig. Today there are three properties in the village. There is a forest school in Börnichen .
Börnichen has always belonged to the city of Lübben and was initially in the district of Lübben (Spreewald) in the administrative district of Frankfurt in the Kingdom of Prussia . On July 25, 1952, Börnichen was assigned to the newly founded Lübben district in the Cottbus district . After the reunification in the GDR , the village was initially in the Lübben district in Brandenburg . After the Brandenburg district reform of December 6, 1993, Börnichen was assigned to the Dahme-Spreewald district .
Monuments
The old forestry department and an old signpost at the end of the village in the direction of Schlepzig are listed as architectural monuments in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg .
