Bürgerholz at Rosian's

The Bürgerholz bei Rosian is a nature reserve in the town of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0061 is around 104 hectares in size. It is congruent with the FFH area of the same name . The area has been under protection since 1994 (date of regulation: May 25, 1994). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Jerichower Land.
The nature reserve is located southeast of Loburg. It protects a deciduous forest area in a side valley of the Ehle in an otherwise predominantly agricultural landscape. The nature reserve is shaped by various forest communities . For example, alder forests with swamp sedge and swamp hairline , alder-ash forest with common ash , black alder , pedunculate oak , sycamore maple , field maple and field elm as well as common bird cherry in the bush layer andHollow corydalis , Woolly buttercup , Forest Bingelkraut and daffodils can be found in the herb layer. Pedunculate oak and hornbeam forests also grow thickly with common beech , the herbaceous layer of which is formed by wood anemones , lesser celandine , multi-flowered white root , common psyllium , chickweed and turkish lily and ash and elm forests in the nature reserve.
In several places, the forests are joined by moist meadows of different intensity of use, which are included in the nature reserve. Here u. a. the marsh thistle .
The nature reserve is drained to the Ehle via several ditches that unite to form the Bürgerholzgraben. The trenches are accompanied by trees in the area of the meadows. The Ehle, of which a few hundred meters long section is included in the nature reserve, is also accompanied by trees.
The nature reserve is the habitat for a species-rich avifauna . Around 125 species of birds have been identified in the protected area, the majority of which breed here. So here are u. a. various wild pigeon species , six species of woodpeckers , quail , Shrike , Red-backed Shrike and Ortolan home. Cranes , black and white storks look for food in the nature reserve.
Various jewel beetles have been detected in the reserve , including lady beetles , ore-colored softwood jewel beetles and gold mine oak jewel beetles .
The nature reserve is almost completely surrounded by agricultural land .
