Railway stations in Baden-Württemberg |
The Allensbach train station is, along with the Hegne stop, one of two train stations in the Baden-Württemberg community of Allensbach on Lake Constance . It is located at kilometer 403.1 of the of Basel about Waldshut , Schaffhausen and Singen (Hohentwiel) to Constance leading Upper Rhine Railway and trains of Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) and the SBB GmbH , the German subsidiary of the Swiss Federal Railways , served (SBB) . According to the railway building and operating regulations, Allensbach station is no longer a station , but a stopping point. Allensbach has belonged - like the entire district of Konstanz - to the Verkehrsverbund Hegau-Bodensee (VHB) since 1996 . The address of the train station is Konstanzer Straße 12 .
history
28 years after the opening of the first German railway line from Nuremberg to Fürth , the passenger, post and freight station of the then single-track railway line was opened in Allensbach on June 13, 1863 as the last section of the Baden main line Waldshut - Singen - Konstanz . On that day, a special train with Grand Duke Friedrich I even stopped here at 2:30 p.m. for five minutes.
Since the starting point for the Badische Hauptbahn, which passed here, was Mannheim and the route went via Basel , 403 kilometers of route are counted to Allensbach (the Black Forest Railway was only opened in 1873).
The Karlsruher Zeitung wrote 150 years ago:
“The only thing noteworthy is the spot shortly before the station in the village of Allensbach, where the railway body reaches into the lake. 18 buildings had to be removed. "
Back then, an “ accelerated train ” needed 36 minutes for the Constance - Radolfzell route (today a regional train takes 13 minutes). Four trains in each direction stopped daily. Also Hegne received its own station building 1894th
The construction of the railway line of the Hochrheinbahn Basel - Konstanz, which has only had two tracks in Allensbach since 1904, changed the course of the town's road permanently. The old state road, Radolfzeller Straße - Steig - Hegner Straße and Hochstraße in the direction of Constance, lost its importance due to the railway. The station area has been over half a century to a major construction site: to 1965 ordered the station via an advanced track system with loading area, one in the eastern Güterhalle and a passable weighbridge . The most important freight to be transported by rail was the long timber .
The steam locomotives were in service for over 100 years until they were replaced by the diesel locomotives in the late 1960s . Electric locomotives have been running on this route since September 1977.
1996 held in Allensbach morning and at night two or three pairs of trains of InterRegios Hamburg - Konstanz , from 2002 onwards with a shortened stroke and without stopping in Allensbach as intercity trains wrong and have been completely adjusted, 2014. This is due to a lack of demand.
As part of the " Seehas " concept, the Mittelthurgau Railway (MThB) expanded its route network beyond Constance to Engen in 1994 . The "Seehas" trains operated by SBB GmbH since 2002 also stop every half hour in Allensbach in each direction.
In December 2015, the eighth video travel center of Deutsche Bahn in Germany opened in a pavilion between the platform on platform 1 and the main street at Allensbach station .
Rail transport
Today around 100 trains stop at Allensbach station every day. More than 3000 boarding and alighting trains are counted daily, using the regional express trains Constance - Karlsruhe operated by Deutsche Bahn and the "Seehas" Konstanz - Engen operated by SBB GmbH.
