The Villingen (Black Forest) train station (official Villingen (Schwarzw) ) is one of two train stations in Villingen-Schwenningen . The other is Schwenningen (Neckar) . There are also five further breakpoints . The train station is located east of Villingen's historic city center on the other side of the Brigach . history

The building was constructed before 1869. The station belonged to the Grand Ducal Baden State Railways . Since here, however, the railway Rottweil Villingen-ends, from the Württemberg Royal State Railways was operated were in Baden Villingen an Württemberg locomotive remise and a service of Württemberg residential buildings. A goods shed was shared.

The central building of today's reception building has been changed several times, most recently on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Villingen in 1999.

The Black Forest Railway was electrified from 1972 . The section from Offenburg to Villingen was electrified on September 28, 1975, the line from Villingen to Konstanz in 1977. With Villingen, 10,000 km of the railway line in Germany was electrified, as indicated by a plaque at the station.

As part of the “ Breisgau S-Bahn 2020 ” project, Villingen has been served by the hourly S-Bahn line S1 since December 2019, which runs from Villingen via Donaueschingen , Neustadt , Freiburg and Gottenheim to Breisach and Endingen . The initially planned wings of the trains in Gottenheim ( every half hour) and Titisee (hourly) cannot initially be offered due to problems. For this reason, a modified, less complicated timetable concept applies on line S1 from February to June 2020, which should stabilize the timetable and ensure reliable operation. In June, those responsible then want to return to the originally planned timetable concept.
