history

The Royal privileged Bavarian Eastern Railway Company opened the Langenbach (Oberbay) Bahnhof on 3 November 1858, the stretch of Munich - Landshut the railway line Munich- Regensburg opened. On December 12, 1859, the line could be extended to Regensburg . The Munich – Regensburg railway line was run by the Royal Privileged Actiengesellschaft of the Bavarian Eastern Railways only as a single track, so that after the opening of the line, Langenbach station had two tracks available for passenger traffic. Track 2, which had a side platform , was the main track. Track 1 was on the house platform and formed the passing track . The two platforms were connected to one another by a level crossing. To the north of the station building there was a stub track with a head ramp for freight traffic. In the south of the station there was a level crossing on Freisinger Strasse.

On November 25, 1891, the double-track expansion of the Munich – Regensburg line to Moosburg an der Isar was put into operation. To enable Freising and Moosburg to connect to the Hallertau , the construction of the line from Langenbach to Enzelhausen began on August 12, 1907. This section of the Hallertau Local Railway was opened on May 1, 1909. With the construction of the railway line to Enzelhausen, Langenbach station was also fundamentally rebuilt. The current station building was probably built after 1904 and started operating with the opening of the Hallertau local railway. Another level crossing was built at the northern end of the station. Both level crossings were equipped with small signal boxes. Track 1 on the house platform became the second track with the double-track expansion of the Munich – Regensburg railway line. For the Hallertau local railway, the station received a third platform track, which was set up opposite the reception building. A water tower was built next to track 3 to supply the local railway locomotives with water. Next to the station building, next to the track with the head ramp, another track to the goods shed was built . On August 13, 1926, a serious railway accident occurred in the entrance to the station , in which 12 people died.

Most of the trains of the Hallertau Local Railway continued from Langenbach to Freising . Up until and during the Second World War there were no more major renovations in the station area.

On June 3, 1973, the German Federal Railroad stopped passenger traffic between Langenbach and Zolling on the Hallertau Local Railway. Freight traffic from Langenbach (Oberbay) station to the Zolling power plant was retained. After the shutdown of the Hallertau local railway, the platform on track 3 was demolished. In the meantime, the smaller signal box at the northern level crossing has been converted into a real signal box. The dispatcher sat in the reception building. Freight loading at Langenbach (Oberbay) station was abandoned in 1999. A year later, the Deutsche Bahn tore down the track system. Since October 2007, Langenbach (Oberbay) train station has been controlled by the electronic interlocking in Munich. The signal boxes in the reception building and at the level crossing were partially dismantled and shut down.

From 2009 the station was completely rebuilt. The two platforms were moved 200 meters in the direction of Landshut and made barrier-free. The platforms can now be reached via an underpass from the station forecourt and from Dorfstrasse to the west of the station. The renovation work was completed in September 2010 and the old platforms were dismantled in 2011. The station building remained in its old location.
