In 1864 the Biel / Bienne-Bern railway line and thus the construction of the Lyss train station was completed.

Lyss – Solothurn railway line

In 1864 the first Lyss-Busswil section of the Lyss-Solothurn line was opened. At the end of 1876, the Busswil-Solothurn line was finally completed. In 1994 the Büren-Solothurn section was shut down, so to this day the trains only run from Lyss to Büren an der Aare.

Kerzers – Lyss railway line

Also in 1876, the Chemins de fer de la Suisse Occidentale opened the Murten-Kerzers-Fräschels railway line. On the same day, the Jura bernois put its section between Fräschels and Lyss into operation, so that the railway line as a whole was operated by two companies, but on a single day.

The train station today
