Surname
The alternative designation as "Mosel-Maare-Bahn" was chosen by Christian Speidel from the working group for rail transport in the Rhineland in 1986 for the first time as the headline for a brochure on the occasion of the work group's efforts to maintain the line. Mostly in the course of the introduction of the Rhineland-Palatinate clock (from 1993) the railway lines were then given names. During the operating time, the line was referred to as KBS 263c (later 623).
