Barban (Italian Barbana d'Istria ) is a village in Istria County , Croatia . According to the 2011 census, the community has 2,721 inhabitants. Barban is located 28 km northeast of Pula above the Raša valley at 229 m.

history

In 1374 the village came under Habsburg rule. From 1508 to 1516, in the war between Austria and Venice , the village was badly damaged and fell to Venice.
