Vodnjan ( Italian Dignano ) is a city in Croatia .
Geographical location
The city is located on a hill on the west bank of the Istria County , about 10 km north of Pula . In addition to the main town Vodnjan / Dignano, the town also includes the settlements Gajana / Gaiano, Galižana / Gallesano and Peroj / Peroi.
The place is officially bilingual, Italian and Croatian. The Istrian language is also spoken.

The place existed under the name Vicus Attinianum as early as Roman times .

Attractions
The place is characterized by numerous Gothic and Renaissance buildings . This also includes a castle from 1300.
The second largest collection of relics in Europe , which includes the Vodnjan mummies, is located in Vodnjan Church .
On the road to Bale is the park of the stone huts . In the small open-air museum, Kažuni are shown in various construction phases.
