Barbara Ruscher (born February 9, 1969 in Rheinbach ) is a German cabaret artist and author .

Life

Barbara Ruscher attended school in her birthplace and graduated from the municipal high school there in 1988. In addition, she attended the music school in Rheinbach for 13 years . From 1990 to 1997 she completed a teaching degree and - referendariat in the subjects of music and German.

She has lived in Cologne since 1998 and is on tour on German-speaking cabaret stages. Among other things, she performed in the Senftöpfchen , in the Unterhaus - Mainzer Forum Theater , in the Pantheon Theater , in the Schlachthof cultural center , in the Renitenztheater , in the New Theater Höchst , on the Landesbühne Hannover , in the Apollo , in the cabaret theater Die Wühlmäuse , in the Schmidt Theater , at the International Cologne Comedy Festival and also in German-speaking countries. She made guest appearances in numerous television programs. In addition to the piano, she also played the alto saxophone with the Schäl Sick Brass Band .

In 2003 she reached the finals in the competition for the " Tuttlinger Krähe ". In 2004 she won the first "Eschweiler Lok" cabaret young talent competition and in 2005 bronze at the "Heilbronner Lorbeeren" award. In 2007 she was a finalist in the “ Prix ​​Pantheon ” cabaret competition . In the 2011/2012 season she was awarded bronze in the German Cabaret League.

On September 9, 2013, her first novel “Fuck the Möhrchen. A Baby Unpacks “at the Aufbau Taschenbuch Verlag , currently in its 14th edition, and on September 26, 2014 the audio book for the novel (FEEZ Entertainment GmbH; label of Sony Music Entertainment GmbH ), 350 minutes plus three bonus titles. Among other things, Annette Traks reviewed the book in detail in The Huffington Post in April 2014. From 2016 to 2017 she hosted the program Extra 3 Spezial: Der real Irrsinn XXL on NDR. Barbara Ruscher lives in Cologne- Sülz and has two children.
