Baumann and Clausen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Baumann and Clausen is a radio comedy series about the two imaginary bureaucrats Hans Werner Baumann and Alfred Clausen. With a running time of almost 27 years and over 7,500 episodes broadcast, Baumann und Clausen is one of the most successful radio series and can be heard on 19 radio stations across Germany.

Emergence

The radio comedy was originally developed in 1993 by Jens Lehrich and Frank Bremser for Radio Schleswig-Holstein (R.SH). Brakeman and Lehrich were employed as volunteers at R.SH at the time. The idea of a bureaucratic comedy arose from her own experiences with official structures and representatives of authorities. The first episodes ran under the title "The officials from the Ratzhaus". Since very few could do anything with the "Ratzhaus", the series was soon renamed "Baumann and Clausen". The authors and producers Lehrich and Bremser are also the speakers.

content

The protagonists are two bureaucrats from the fictional town of Neddelhastedtfeld. This place is particularly characterized by its many bowling pubs, as senior councilor Clausen has a downright fanatical weakness for this sport.

Alfred Clausen (born May 26, 1965) sits in the building department of Neddelhastedtfeld. A favorite subject of Alfred, who tends to be rude, is his wife Ella. He loves her cooking skills and especially the meatloaf with brown sauce, about which there is now a song of its own as part of the theater show “In Heaven is the Devil's Going”. However, he doesn't leave good hair on her appearance and figure, he likes to refer to her as his "better three-quarters". Alfred is a macho and takes it for granted that his wife is responsible for the household, tarring the driveway and raising their son Timmy.

Hans Werner (HaWe) Baumann (born April 12, 1970) works in the passport office and always fulfills his job as a civil servant to the complete satisfaction of his superior. He is addicted to harmony and therefore able to be friends with Alfred. He has a loving relationship with his wife Gertrud. They have a son named Uli-Emmanuel.

The two bureaucrats talk about the problems in their everyday work over the phone.

Every episode of Baumann & Clausen begins with HaWe's question: "In the morning, Alfred, how do you eat?" And ends with his suggestion: "Käffchen?" To which Alfred replies: "Bingo!"
