Baumgarten is a district of Püchersreuth in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district in the Bavarian administrative district of Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

Baumgarten is located on Bundesstraße 15 on the western slope of the 541 m high Steinbühl. The hamlet consists of a hotel with a restaurant and overnight accommodation and four residential buildings. Baumgarten is located 5 km northwest of Püchersreuth, 6.7 km northeast of Neustadt an der Waldnaab and 4 km east of Windischeschenbach .

In the north, east and south-east the village of Baumgarten is surrounded by an extensive forest area with numerous springs, which from north clockwise to south-east is made of arched wood, Dockenholz, Hasenbühl, Baumgarten, Wiege, Steinbühl (541 m), Leitenholz, Sichholz, Kernöd (487 m) and whipwood. The streams that arise there flow partly to the west (Schleißbach) to the Waldnaab , partly to the southeast (Rohrbach, Weiherlohbach) to the Schlattein .

history

Baumgarten is located in the Stiftland of the Waldsassen Monastery . Baumgarten was first mentioned in statistics from 1961 as a district of the municipality of Eppenreuth. At that time, Eppenreuth was part of the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district. In 1978 the community of Eppenreuth and its districts were incorporated into the community of Püchersreuth.
