The construction world (also Bauwelt ) or Bauwelt Interbaustoff construction and housing needs Vertriebsges.mbH is the oldest and one of the leading building material trade cooperations in Austria , and a member of the Association of builders merchants in Austria (VBÖ). It currently consists of 17 shareholders who represent regionally significant, independent medium-sized building materials trading companies throughout Germany. Another strategic partner is the German company Eurobaustoff Handelsgesellschaft . The task of this cooperation is the bundling ( synergy ) of purchasing conditions for all partner companies involved. A brand known throughout Austria is to be used jointly, thereby strengthening the market presence. The cooperation operates 49 building material stores in Austria, 32 of which are also DIY stores (mainly Obi stores).
particularities
The majority of the BauWelt building materials stores are operated at the same time as an Obi DIY store in the franchise system, which emerged in Austria in October 1995 from the former Bauwelt DIY stores.
