Bayview is a village in the northwestern part of the US state of Texas belonging Cameron County . The population has only been recorded statistically since the 1970s. It fluctuated between around 250 and 300 by the turn of the millennium and in 2016 was 466 people.

description
As village classified settlement located north of the County - administrative center Brownsville and northwest of the port city of Port Isabel . In terms of landscape, it is part of the Gulf Coast Plain in South Texas, which is characterized by headlands, canals and the barrier island of Padre Island . The vegetation is characterized by coastal prairie , shrubs and low trees. Statistically, Bayview is part of the Brownsville- Harlingen metropolitan area . The distance to the Gulf Coast is around five kilometers and Brownsville is around 15 kilometers.
Other localities in the area are the small town of Los Fresnos and the communities of Los Cuatos, Indian Lake and Laureles. Isabel-Cameron Regional Airport and the Port Isabel Detention Center juvenile detention center are located near Bayview . Bayview is served by the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District . In addition, residents can apply for schools in the South Texas Independent School District .
Demographics
According to 2016 data from the United States Census Bureau , the population that year was 466 people. 232 of them were male , 234 female . 353 inhabitants were 18 years or older, 113 children or adolescents , 129 older than 65 years. The median age was 47.9 years. 329 of the respondents described themselves as white (70.6%), 131 as Hispanic or Latino (28.1%). Six inhabitants (1.3%) stated that they belong to more than one ethnic group. The median income per household was US $ 56,500 (USD) according to the census .
