The Becker Joest Volksverlag (BJVV) is a 2003 founded German Counselor Publishing in Hilden in the Rhineland . He sells his books in German-speaking countries ( DACH ). He is also internationally active with foreign language publications and licenses .

The publishing house was founded in 2003 by the garden photographer Jürgen Becker and the two owners of the advertising agency Makro Chroma, Ralf Joest and Hans-Eckehard Volk, in Hilden. In January 2020 Jürgen Becker and H.-E. Volk resigned as partner and managing director by way of company succession, at the same time Andreas Grewe, Johanna Hänichen and Justyna Schwertner entered as new shareholders. The managing directors are Ralf Joest, Andreas Grewe and Johanna Hänichen.

Thematically, the publisher has specialized in advice in the areas of cookbooks , popular medicine, health , nutrition and garden design and also publishes books on topics such as do-it-yourself , yoga , fitness , travel, baking , football , lifestyle and wall calendars.

The publisher publishes around 15 to 20 new titles each year , all of which are printed in Germany . An essential part of the new releases are guides accompanying the program in cooperation with several public television programs .

The publisher is a member of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels as well as a member of the artfolio sales cooperation and is represented at the Frankfurt Book Fair every year .

In the area of ​​garden design and advice , the authors Peter Janke, Markus Phlippen, Volker Michael, Lars Weigelt, Manuel Sauer and Ulrich Timm, as well as the photographers Marianne Majerus, Ferdinand Graf von Luckner and Jürgen Becker are represented. Attila Hildmann's cookbooks published by the publisher have not appeared on the publisher's website since June 2020; he is no longer listed in the list of authors.
