|
Beelitz is a district of the city of Arneburg in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Beelitz, a street village with a church, is located about ten kilometers from the district town of Stendal , about five kilometers west of the Elbe in the Altmark in the south of the Wische , a shallow area with numerous drainage ditches ( Balsamgraben ).
history
Beelitz was first mentioned in a document in 1204. This is derived from the mention of a witness named Gerardus de Beliz or Gerhardus de Belitz in several documents of that time. In 1343 the Margrave Ludwig awarded various loan pieces to Belitz . Other mentions were Belitz in 1687 , Behlitz in 1725 and Dorf and Gut Beelitz in 1804 .
Agriculture
During the land reform in 1945, the following were determined: an estate over 100 hectares had 131 hectares, 17 possessions under 100 hectares totaled 298 hectares, a church estate had 3 hectares. 160 hectares were expropriated and divided between 16 settlers. In 1952 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG " Max Reimann ", was established. In 1975 the LPG was connected to the LPG Obstbau-Arneburg.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1973, the municipality from the Stendal district lost its independence and became a district of the city of Arneburg, on January 1, 1991, independence was restored. On July 1, 1994 she came to the district of Stendal .
On November 4, 2008, the municipality council of the municipality of Beelitz decided that the municipality of Beelitz should be incorporated into the city of Arneburg. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on July 1, 2009.

Trivia
In the story “The wrong church in Belitz”, which Pastor Mertens from Uchtenhagen handed down to Alfred Pohlmann in 1901, there is talk of two giants from Beelitz and Borstel . The Borsteler threw a stone, which landed in Beelitz, remained there and was shown for a long time as a chicken bed . You could see the giant's hand on it. The stone was used to build the school house. The Beelitz giant wanted revenge and seized the church, but it slipped away from him and fell back to earth. However, she had turned in the meantime. Since then the village had the name wrong Belitz . Another version of the saga is as follows. In order to annoy the congregation, a dilapidated farmer with enormous strength is said to have put a strong tree through the sound holes of the church tower when he left and thus turned the whole church.
