Meeting in Biarritz (original title: Hôtel des Amériques ) is a French feature film by André Téchiné from 1982 . The film was first broadcast in Germany on February 22, 1988 on ZDF .
action
The film tells the story of the doctor Hélène, who is inattentive for a moment at the wheel of her car and almost causes an accident. Fortunately, the young man was not injured. But Gilles, whose family runs a shabby hotel in Biarritz , falls in love with the elegant, confident woman. From now on he follows her through the city. Hélène's facade of haughty seclusion, which she maintains in everyday life, shows cracks.

Director Téchiné expresses the passage of time through journeys, corridors, black screens; and, on the other hand, sets counterpoints of waiting: on socializing, making love, on renovation. This carefully composed sequence keeps the audience's tension alive even after midnight. "
