Benjamin Seth "Ben" Watson (* 18th December 1980 in Norfolk , Virginia ) is an American American football poker players on the position of tight ends . He plays for the New England Patriots , with whom he won Super Bowl XXXIX , in the National Football League (NFL). He was previously also with the Baltimore Ravens , the Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints under contract.

Career

Watson attended Duke University , but later moved to the University of Georgia . He scored 48 out of 50 on the Wonderlic Test , which is one of the highest scores ever in the NFL.

Ben Watson was selected as the 32nd player in the 2004 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots in the first round. He caught just two passes in his first year with the Patriots, but over the years he developed into an important player for the Patriots. In 2005, Watson broke three tackles and dodged five defenders to score a touchdown .

In December 2018, Watson announced his retirement as a New Orleans Saints player ("It was great to be part of this team and to be so successful in this part of my career.
