Location of Berghausen in Bavaria

Berghausen is a district of the Altmannstein market in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt .

location

The church village is located on the plateau of the southeastern foothills of the Franconian Jura at about 430 - 440 m above sea level, about one kilometer north of Altmannstein. The Altmannstein - Hexenagger road leads through the village .

history

Berghausen was first mentioned in a document in 972 as "Perchusa". In 1030 a church was dedicated to St. Nicholas . A local nobleman named Ulrich de Perchusa can be traced back to the 13th century. In the middle of the 15th century, after having been in the possession of the Regensburg St. Emmeram monastery for around 250 years, the place came into the possession of the Lords of Hechsenagger .

Since the municipal reform , which came into force on January 1, 1972, Berghausen has belonged to the Altmannstein market, previously the village was an independent municipality. In 1983 the place consisted of 15 properties with 93 inhabitants.

church

The Catholic Church of St. Nicholas, a side church of Sollern , is a small building that was rebuilt around 1760 using the old nave walls. It is equipped with a remarkable ceiling painting, which is designed like a votive picture and shows Mary venerated by various saints. It was painted in 1764 on behalf of the farmer Andreas Zieglmayr. The church's neo-renaissance altars were erected in the 19th century. A lecture cross with Saint Sebastian and the offering box are works by Johann Georg Günther the Elder (1704–1783).

Others

A brick chapel shrine from the 19th century is located southwest of the village on the way to Sollern .
