The place lies in the gentle hills of the beginning Jura . The wide plains of the Danube valley are about 10 km south of the village.

Regensburg is about 45 km to the east, Ingolstadt 30 km to the west. Munich is around 100 km south of the town.

history

To the east of Schwabstetten are the remains of a late Celtic square hill .

The village was first mentioned in 972 as "Suabsteti".

On June 1, 1928, the Schwabstetten community was dissolved. A part was incorporated into the municipality of Hagenhill and is now part of the Altmannstein market. The other part came to Mindelstetten .

church

The church of St. Maria Magdalena , a branch church of the Lobsing parish, is located outside the village in a north-easterly direction on a hill. It is of late Romanesque origin. In 1966 the recently equipped choir tower church was renovated. The original entrance to the south of the church is walled up. The tower has a bonnet with a large button, which is rare in this type. The church is surrounded by a cemetery wall.

A stucco low relief on the ceiling of the sacred building from the end of the 17th century shows God the Father in clouds and surrounded by angel heads.

structure

The village has around 100 inhabitants and is almost exclusively characterized by agriculture and forestry.
