Laimerstadt is a district of the Altmannstein market in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt .

location

The place is located in the gently rolling hills of the Jura , which begins here, on state road 2232, about 8 km south of the Altmühltal. The wide plains of the Danube Valley are approx. 10 km south of the village.

Regensburg is approx. 45 km to the east, Ingolstadt 30 km to the west. Munich is about 100 km south of the town.

history

The Raetian Limes passes to the north of the village , recognizable over a few hundred meters as a terraced field slope.

The church village was first mentioned in a document in 907 as "Liumaresstat". The land register of 1326 shows that the place belonged to Altmannstein Castle .

In 1968 a land consolidation was carried out.

On May 1, 1978, Laimerstadt was incorporated into the Altmannstein market.

church

The Catholic Church of St. Walburga , a side church of Hienheim , was rebuilt in the 18th century using a Gothic east tower and extended in 1850. It is surrounded by a cemetery wall; the cemetery is abandoned. In 1971 a renovation took place.

The place had 186 inhabitants in 2007 and is almost exclusively dominated by agriculture and forestry.

Bike and footpaths

The 170 or 155 km long cycle path Via Raetica , which follows the historic Via Raetia , leads through Laimerstadt .

The German Limes Cycle Path also runs through the village . This follows the Upper German-Raetian Limes over 818 km from Bad Hönningen on the Rhine to Regensburg on the Danube .

The Limes hiking trail also runs through Laimerstadt.
