Bernd Heesen

Bernd Heesen (born March 9, 1964 in Munich ) is a German professor for business informatics at the Faculty of Business and General Sciences at Ansbach University .

Life

Heesen studied business informatics at the Technical University of Darmstadt . After completing his studies, he worked in management consulting for 11 years, including 7 years in the USA. Most recently he was President of SAP SI America. In 2004, Heesen received his doctorate from the University of Phoenix on the subject of "Diffusion of innovations: Factors predicting the use of e-learning at institutions of higher education in Germany". In the same year he was offered a position at Ansbach University .

Since the introduction of the bachelor's degree in business informatics, Heesen has been head of the business applications major . The focus of teaching and research is business intelligence and big data analytics .

Since the summer semester of 2006, the International Management course for top athletes has been offered, which Heesen initiated. In addition to the general conditions of admission, membership of the current or former national team of the Olympic professional associations is a prerequisite for admission to the course. More than 100 top athletes are registered there. In December 2008, the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences was recognized by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) as the University of Top Sports 2008 for this initiative .

There are many successful and well-known names among the student athletes, including Kati Wilhelm , Anja Schache , Nicolas Limbach , Christopher Fischer , Jörg Ritzerfeld , Severin Freund , Georg Späth , Monika Bergmann , Felix Petermann , Stefanie and at the HS Ansbach Franziska Hildebrand , Jan Eichhorn , Petra Haltmayr , Jana Krause , and Alisa Vetterlein enrolled.

Awards

  • In June 2009 Heesen was awarded the Bayerischer Sportpreis 2009 ( Bayerischer Sportpreis ) in the category "Innovation in Sport" for his commitment.
  • In June 2000, Heesen and his management consultancy "Prescient Consulting" were recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine and Dun & Bradstreet as one of the "HOT 100" fastest growing companies in America.
