Bernd Heinrich (born June 1, 1962 in Stuttgart ) is a German law scholar and university professor specializing in criminal law , criminal procedure law and copyright law .

Life

Bernd Heinrich grew up in a non-academic home in Stuttgart. From 1968 to 1972 he attended elementary school in Stuttgart-Luginsland , and from 1972 to 1982 the Wirtemberg-Gymnasium in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim .

From 1982 he studied law at the University of Tübingen , and from 1985 also political science (Magister) up to the intermediate examination. In April 1988 he passed the first state examination in law. During his legal preparatory service , he was a research assistant at the chair for criminal law and procedural law with Jürgen Baumann and later at the chair for criminal and criminal procedural law with Ulrich Weber . In the latter, after his second state examination in July 1991, he worked as a research assistant and later as a research assistant.

In the summer of 1993 he completed his dissertation on “The criminal liability of unauthorized duplication and distribution of standard software ” with summa cum laude . For this he received the Reinhold-und-Maria-Teufel-Stiftung's sponsorship award in December 1994. In 1999 he completed his habilitation on the subject of “The concept of public officials in criminal law” and was authorized to teach the subjects of criminal law, criminal procedure law and copyright law at the University of Tübingen.

From April to September 2000 he was a professor at the law faculty of the University of Tübingen. From October 2000 to September 2001 he was a C4 professor for criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Freiburg , and from October 2001 to July 2002 a C4 professor for criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Konstanz .

In August 2002 he received a C3 professorship for criminal law and related areas at the University of Konstanz.

In March 2003 he was appointed to a C4 chair for criminal law, criminal procedural law and copyright law at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From April 2010 to March 2012 he was Dean of the Law Faculty. Since April 2015 he has been teaching as the successor to Hans-Ludwig Günther at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen.

Research focus and international collaborations

His focus in research and teaching are mainly in the dogma of the general and special part of the Criminal Code (see. His textbook Criminal Law ), as well as, among others, in addition to criminal law (v. A. Waffenrecht , weapons of war right Explosives Act and club Criminal), in copyright law (focus offenses) and in media criminal law .

From 2006, Bernd Heinrich was co-organizer of the East-West network of the law faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin, in the course of which intensive contacts to the law faculties of the Universities of Riga ( Latvia ), the Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev ( Ukraine ) and Russian -Armenian University in Yerevan ( Armenia ) and the State University of Tbilisi ( Georgia ) were established. Since moving to the Faculty of Law at the University of Tübingen with the Ivan Franco University in Lviv (Ukraine), the University of Sciences in Szeged (Hungary) and the Dokuz-Eylül University in Izmir, he has been involved in the Network East-West project (Turkey) continued.

He is also significantly involved in a German-Georgian criminal law project funded by the Volkswagen Foundation, which is carried out jointly with the University of Jena ( Heiner Alwart , Edward Schramm ).

There are also contacts to Bahçeşehir University and Özyeğin University in Istanbul . As part of research stays, he also held a series of lectures in Rio de Janeiro / Brazil (focus: media criminal law) and Cape Town / South Africa (focus: corruption criminal law, money laundering ).

Bernd Heinrich is co-editor of the German-Georgian criminal law magazine (DGStZ) and the criminal policy magazine (KriPoZ).
