Bernd Laube (born November 13, 1950 - December 5, 2012 ) was a German soccer player .

Player career

Youth career

Bernd Laube started at SV Athen 14 before joining the Hertha BSC junior team at SC Union 06 Berlin . During this time, he played a total of 15 international matches for the various youth national teams of the DFB , including two games for the German U-18s .

Professional career

For the 1969/70 Bundesliga season , Laube was added to the professional squad by coach Helmut Kronsbein . However, he only came to the highest Hertha victory in Bundesliga history, the 9-1 win over Borussia Dortmund , for a short stint. This should be his only league game for Hertha BSC.

In 1971, Laube moved to Wormatia Worms in the Regionalliga Südwest together with Norbert Janzon . There both formed a storm duo, which scored 31 of the 63 goals of the season. 1972/73 Laube scored 16 goals, making him the second best scorer of the Wormatia behind the twenty-time goalscorer Gerd Dier . In 1973/74 , Laube still scored nine goals and at the end of the season was able to qualify with his club in 6th place for the newly founded 2nd Bundesliga . There he scored seven goals in 14 missions until the winter break, making Laube the club's most successful goalscorer.

Nevertheless, he went to VfR Heilbronn for half a year . In Heilbronn he was used as a midfielder, but could not prevent Heilbronn with his three goals that had to be relegated.

Bernd Laube signed on to league rivals Jahn Regensburg , where he immediately became a regular and in 1975/76 was Jahn's second-best goalscorer behind striker Herfried Ruhs with seven goals. The league was only achieved because the 1. FSV Mainz 05 renounced its license. Also in 1976/77 under Helmut Richert , Laube kept his regular place. As Jahn Regensburg after 15 match days, but finished in last place, signed a contract with the arbor in the North Season gambling SC Herford .

In Herford he met Peter Enders , with whom he had already played at Hertha. At the end of the season, Laube had helped with his six goals that the climber could keep the class. Behind Uwe Pallaks , Laube scored the second most in the 1977/78 season with nine goals . However, Herford had to relegate at the end of the season due to the poor goal difference compared to VfL Osnabrück . After winning the Oberliga Westfalen , Herford rose again immediately. 1979/80 Laube did not get beyond the role of the supplementary player and ended his playing career after successfully relegating and holding 74 second division games (19 goals) for Herford.

Official career

In 1989 Bernd Laube took over the managerial position at Hannover 96 for one season . There he jumped in as an interim trainer in November 1989 for two weeks.
