Bernd Philipp

Bernd Philipp (born February 5, 1950 in Berlin ; † March 21, 2018 ) was a German journalist and book author.

Career

Philipp volunteered between 1970 and 1972 in Düsseldorf at the WAZ media group . From 1973 to 1976 he was an editor at BZ in Berlin (focus on TV), then features editor at Die Welt and the Berliner Morgenpost .

In 1977 he became head of the media department and editor of the Morgenpost-Wochen-Journal Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung . For 18 years he also worked as a chief reporter for the Berliner Morgenpost .

Since 1981 his column in life situations has appeared in the Berliner Morgenpost every Sunday . This made it one of the oldest rubrics in Germany written by a single author. Topics: The little sensations of everyday life, marriage, the media, the wondrous world of advertising etc. On February 28, 2010, the Berliner Morgenpost published the column for the last time and devoted a whole page to Bernd Philipp. Philipp initially continued his column on his personal website.

In 2006 and 2013, Philipp worked as a freelance writer, including contract author for Berliner Morgenpost , Die Welt and Welt am Sonntag . Together with Hellmuth Karasek and Hajo Schumacher , he was part of the columnist team at Axel Springer Verlag .

For about four years, until 2010, Philipp wrote the Sunday series Berlin Walk for the Berliner Morgenpost and Die Welt , for which he met with a celebrity from culture, politics, science and business for a conversation and a walk in their favorite corner.

Since the end of 2009, Bernd Philipp has been working for Kaupert- Verlag and the associated advertising agency “Zepter & Krone” as director for company representation and head of the KAUPERTS Club of Berlin Movers , for whom he mainly portrayed Berlin entrepreneurs.

Bernd Philipp has written more than 30 books with everyday stories, including titles such as It's so cheerful , Do women have to be? , Golfy - unpacking a golf ball , Life is a lucky bag , legs made up of life . He was the co-author of Hugo Egon Balder's autobiography, I have warned myself, which was published in 2004 . In 2008 Life Endangered Her Health was published , a book in which the best life situation columns are compiled.

Together with Renate Wiechmann he wrote the book The Last Train . It describes the fate of the last Jews deported from Berlin to Auschwitz . It became the German companion book to Artur Brauner's film The Last Train , directed by Joseph Vilsmaier .

He organized readings and a. from his book How do I stay fat without starving? , sometimes with prominent support such as Hugo Egon Balder and RIAS legend Nero Brandenburg , but also with musical accompaniment.

His book Die Märchen-Apotheke , which he published with “Märchenland” director Silke Fischer and Stephanie zu Guttenberg (as editor), is a great success with worldwide translations (up to Korean) and which deals with what the Grimms' fairy tales tell us can say today and why they are as relevant as they were then.

Philipp lived in Berlin-Westend and had a son.

He died in March 2018 at the age of 68 years at a cancer .
