The district office of Schopfheim was a state administrative district in the state of Baden , which existed from April 23, 1810 to April 1, 1938.

history

Schopfheim was already the central location of an administrative unit during the time of the margraviate of Hachberg-Sausenberg , the Schopfheim district of the Landgraviate of Sausenberg.

When it was decided in 1809 to dissolve the Oberamt Rötteln , its communities were assigned to the newly formed district offices of Lörrach, Kandern and Schopfheim. The new district office was assigned to the Wiesenkreis and after its dissolution in 1815 came to the Dreisamkreis.

The district office of Kandern was dissolved in 1819 and the communities of Endenburg , Kirchhausen and Schlächtenhaus were assigned to the district office of Schopfheim.

After the Baden administrative reform of 1832, the district office of Schopfheim belonged to the Upper Rhine District . After the renewed reform in 1864, the Schopfheim office became part of the regional commissioner district of Freiburg , which remained the higher-level state authority until 1938. In 1864, district associations were also set up in Baden, which served for the joint exercise of municipal self-government tasks by the municipalities of several state administrative districts. The municipalities of the district of Schopfheim belonged to the district of Lörrach, the district office itself had no self-administration tasks, but was only part of the state administration.

In 1857 the administration and administration of justice at the lower level were separated from each other. The district offices were purely administrative units, the jurisdiction was taken over by local courts.

On April 1, 1885, the community of Neuenweg-Heubronn was separated from the district office of Schopfheim and assigned to the district office of Schönau.

With the ordinance on the simplification of internal administration of January 18, 1924 , the Schönau district office was repealed and the communities that had previously belonged there were added to the Schopfheim district office. In addition, the municipality of Todtmoos of the St. Blasien district office , which was also canceled, was assigned to the office of Schopfheim.

The district office was repealed on October 1, 1936 by the law on the redistribution of internal administration of June 30, 1936.

The communities of Bernau, Brandenberg, Todtnau and Todtnauberg were assigned to the Neustadt district and thus the Freiburg district. Dossenbach, Minseln, North Swabia, Todtmoos and Wehr came to the district of Säckingen and thus to the district of Waldshut. All other communities in the Schopfheim district came to the Lörrach district and thus remained with the Lörrach district. By ordinance of July 1, 1936, the cancellation date October 1 was initially postponed, while the shifts to other districts took place on October 1.

With the ordinance of October 28, 1936, the repeal only became effective immediately for tasks relating to the division of the military district. In the ordinance of November 25, 1937, the law on the reallocation of internal administration of June 30, 1936 became effective April 1, 1938 for the previous administrative district of Schopfheim fully enacted.

Through the law on district self-government in Baden (district regulation) of June 24, 1939, the previous districts were dissolved on June 15, 1939 and the new districts took their place. The previous district of Lörrach as an association of local self-administration and the state district office of Lörrach were replaced by the district of Lörrach as the lower state administrative district ( organ lending ) and at the same time self-governing body . The communities of the former district office of Schopfheim now belong to the district of Lörrach .
