The district office of Schönau was a state administrative district in the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Republic of Baden , which existed from July 7, 1807 to April 1, 1924.

history

The grand-ducal Baden "ObervogteyAmt Schönau" (later district office Schönau) was created by the general tender on the division of the Grand Duchy of Baden into districts on July 7, 1807.

Until 1803 the area belonged to the Upper Austrian Breisgau and then came to the short-lived Duchy of Modena-Breisgau through the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss , which was soon inherited again to the House of Habsburg. Through the Peace of Pressburg , this duchy came to the Electorate of Baden in 1806 , which Napoleon made the Grand Duchy of Baden in the same year .

At the transition to Baden, the rear Wiesental was divided into three bailiwicks:

The barons of Schönau belonged to the Breisgau knighthood and were represented in the Breisgau estates . The Talvogteien Todtnau and Schönau were co-administered by the Upper Austrian cameraman, Grafschaft Hauenstein , and were represented by them in the state estates.

"The Sanktblasian manorial rule established in Schönau next to the local bailiwick an office Schönau under an Ammann, to which the 49 villages of the valley bailiffs Schönau and Todtnau and the Fröhnd as well as the monastery property in the bailiwick of Zell and in seven places of the margraviate Hachberg-Sausenberg were subordinate."

Due to the ordinance on the simplification of internal administration of January 18, 1924 , the Schönau district office was abolished on April 1, 1924 and the communities previously belonging to it were assigned to the Schopfheim district office as a whole .

Municipalities of the district office

The list is based mainly on the general tender on the division of the Grand Duchy of Baden into districts of July 7, 1807.

On April 1, 1885, the community of Neuenweg-Heubronn was separated from the district office of Schopfheim and assigned to the district office of Schönau.
