Philipp Flad

Philipp Emil Flad (born January 29, 1800 in Wachenheim an der Weinstrasse ; † February 27, 1869 in Karlsruhe ; Protestant) was a Baden bailiff and official director, comparable to a current district administrator .

Philipp Flad was the son of Daniel Theophil Flad, a former monastery conductor in Dürkheim and a church councilor in Heidelberg , and Franziska Philippina née Jakobi. He had been married to Helena, born Martin, since 1829, daughter of the court and garrison preacher Martin zu Karlsruhe. From this marriage there were five children, of whose names only Otto Heinrich Flad (born February 18, 1830 in Karlsruhe, † February 22, 1878 in Heidelberg), later city director of Konstanz and Heidelberg, has been passed down.

Life

After studying at Heidelberg University, from 1822 onwards, Flad worked as a legal trainee at the Heidelberg Land Office and in 1824 became an actuary at the Gernsbach district office , where he supervised more than 30 foundations and was the deputy of the senior bailiff. On August 30, 1826 he was garrison auditor in Karlsruhe and from April 30, 1835 bailiff and second official at the Landamt Karlsruhe . On November 5, 1840, he became the head of the district office of Schopfheim and on January 16, 1845 , he was appointed chief administrator at the district office of Lörrach . From January 29, 1847 he was the head of the district office of Pforzheim and from September 8, 1849 at the district office of Bretten . After a long vacation in 1863 due to serious illness, he was retired on October 8, 1866.
