Gottlieb Jonathan Winter

Gottlieb Jonathan Winter (born May 30, 1810 in Heilbronn ; † January 9, 1886 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a bookseller, Winter studied law in Heidelberg and Jena after attending grammar school in Heidelberg . During his studies he became a member of the old Heidelberg fraternity in 1828 and of the Jena fraternity in 1831 (later Arminia ). In 1834 he passed his exam. That same year he was selected for its participation in the fraternity to 6 months imprisonment sentenced. From 1834 to 1836 he was a volunteer at the Heidelberg Oberamt and, after holding further positions in Neckargemünd , Pforzheim , Bretten , Bruchsal and Müllheim, he became an official in 1844 . From 1848 to 1849 he was the head of the district office in Waldkirch and then went for a short time as an assistant civil servant to the court of the government of the Upper Rhine District , before he became the head of the office and chief magistrate at the district office of Lörrach until 1859 . Subsequently, he was the head of the Lahr district office and became city ​​director in 1861 . From 1864 to 1865 he was city director and board member at the district office of Freiburg im Breisgau . From 1865 to 1866 he was Ministerialrat and State Commissioner for the Constance and Villingen districts in Villingen, then until 1877 State Commissioner for the Freiburg, Lörrach and Offenburg districts. From 1869 to 1870 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly for the National Liberal Party . In 1877 he became a Privy Councilor, 3rd class, and retired.
