Karl Schneider (lawyer, 1870)

Karl Schneider (born September 23, 1870 in Karlsruhe , † April 30, 1941 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German lawyer and judge.

Life

After attending the Karlsruhe grammar school, Karl Schneider studied law at the universities of Geneva, Freiburg, Berlin and Heidelberg. In Freiburg he became a member of the Corps Rhenania in 1890 . In 1893 he passed the first and in 1896 the second state examination in law. He was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD.

After Schneider had toured Sicily , Switzerland, Belgium , Holland , England , France and North Africa , he became secretary in the Baden Ministry of the Interior in 1898. In 1899 he was appointed bailiff in Baden-Baden and in 1902 senior bailiff in Neustadt ( Black Forest ). In 1906 he became a lecturer in the Baden Ministry of the Interior. There he headed the department for trade and commerce and during the First World War the nutrition department. At the end of the war he was given the management of the ministerial director's affairs in the newly created Baden Ministry of Food. In the summer of 1919 he was appointed regional commissioner in Freiburg . During his tenure, the Upper Baden uprising took place in Lörrach in September 1923, and Schneider was responsible for the late and initially too weak use of the police. In 1927 he was appointed President of the Baden Administrative Court in Karlsruhe. He retired on December 31, 1940. In a part-time position, he was chairman of the Competence Court, legal advisory board and lecturer at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and chairman of the Evangelical Church Administrative Court.

From 1928 until the publication was discontinued in 1941, Schneider was editor of the magazine for Baden administration and administrative maintenance .
