Hans Freiherr von Krafft-Ebing (born May 30, 1854 in Eberbach , † December 19, 1930 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Grand Duchy of Baden .

family

Krafft-Ebing's (Catholic) parents were Friedrich von Krafft-Ebing and Clara Antonia nee. Mittermaier (1820–1855), daughter of the Heidelberg legal scholar Carl Joseph Anton Mittermaier . On July 4, 1889, he married Maria geb. Böttlin (born November 29, 1869 in Durlach). The marriage had two sons and a daughter. The psychiatrist Richard von Krafft-Ebing was the older brother.

Life

Baron Krafft-Ebing studied law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . In 1874 he became active in the Corps Suevia Freiburg with Eduard Müller and Ernst Behr . After he had passed the trainee examination in 1878 and the assessor examination in 1881 , he became a bailiff at the Lahr district office on June 27, 1882 . On October 17, 1882 he moved to the Rastatt district office , on April 9, 1884 to the Pforzheim district office and on November 5, 1884 to the Heidelberg district office . In Heidelberg he was appointed senior magistrate on April 5, 1888 . On October 27, 1889, he was appointed senior administrator at the Waldkirch district office . On October 31, 1893, he was appointed chief magistrate at the district office of Müllheim . From July 12, 1897, he became a senior official at the Lahr district office. On July 30, 1902, he became a senior official at the district office of Lörrach and then from March 16, 1906 at the district office of Karlsruhe , where he retired on May 15, 1912. After his death on December 19, 1930, Baron Krafft-Ebing was buried in a grave of honor in the main cemetery in Freiburg im Breisgau .
