fauna and Flora
Due to its relatively isolated location, the atoll has a diverse, largely untouched flora and fauna. Among other things grow here screw pines ( pandanus tectorius ), jewelry grass ( lepturus repens ), coconut ( Cocos nucifera ), Punarnava ( Boerhavia repens ), Pisonia ( Pisonia grandis ), purslane ( Portulaca lutea ) and Scaevola such. B. Scaevola bushes.
Bikar is an important breeding site for sea birds. Although the breeding population has declined in recent years, the island has retained its importance as a regional nesting site. The atoll also serves as an egg-laying place for the endangered green turtle .
