Birgit Fenderl (born January 15, 1971 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and television presenter of German nationality .

Career

education

Birgit Fenderl grew up in St. Johann im Pongau , Munich and Anif . After graduation in Salzburg, she studied for a year in Siena Italian and at the Sorbonne in Paris French before being sent to the University of Vienna , the study of political science with a minor in Spanish recorded. 1995 graduation to Mag.a phil. with a thesis on parliamentary reform in Italy from 1992 to 1994.

Career

After an internship at the daily newspaper Der Standard , Birgit Fenderl came to ORF television during her studies in 1993 . After an internship in the foreign editorial office , she worked for one and a half years in the editorial team of MiniZiB , a child-friendly edition of Zeit im Bild broadcasts.

After a short interlude in the editorial team of Zeit in Bild 1 , she became the domestic policy editor of ZiB 2 in 1995 . From January 1998 Birgit Fenderl was the first moderator of the then newly introduced ZiB 3 at midnight, which she presented until 2004. In addition, she designed international contributions for the other ZiB programs.

In July 2004 she switched to the daily editions of Zeit im Bild and has since been moderating regularly at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. From 2004 to April 2008 (interrupted by her maternity leave), Fenderl also presented the weekly politics magazine Report .

In spring 2002, Birgit Fenderl's 30erinnen appeared , in which she portrayed successful women around 30. Since the 2002/2003 winter semester, Birgit Fenderl has been teaching interview techniques, communication, presentation and argumentation in the journalism course at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences and she moderates events and panel discussions on topics from business, politics and culture.

Since January 2019 she has been presenting the early evening magazine “ Studio 2 ” on ORF 2 together with Martin Ferdiny .

Private

Birgit Fenderl was married to ORF journalist Armin Wolf from 2001 to 2004 . She has a daughter with a German diplomat who was born in April 2005.
