The Birkenkofel ( Italian Croda dei Baranci ) is a 2922  m high mountain in the Haunold group in the Sesto Dolomites in South Tyrol ( Italy ). Between Mitterebenkofel and Unterebenkofel lies the Eben (kofel) scharte at 2510  m . The entire area is under protection in the Drei Zinnen nature park .

Then further south-west over the northeast ridge in three hours over rugged terrain of difficulty UIAA I to the summit. Easier is the path from the Dreischusterhütte to the Lückele-Scharte and then over the marked path to the Hochebenkofel and then to the Birkenkofel via a short, secured climbing section.
