Gerhard Grandke
Gerhard Grandke (born June 11, 1954 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German local politician of the SPD . From January 1994 to January 2006 he was Lord Mayor of Offenbach am Main.
Life
After graduating from high school, Gerhard Grandke studied sociology , psychology , pedagogy and German at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . From 1981 to 1987 he was a lecturer at the DGB vocational training center in Frankfurt am Main . At the same time he worked at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University as a research assistant.
In mid-1987, Grandke switched to the management of organizational development at Frankfurt Airport , and finally in 1989 he worked as a management consultant at Hirzel, Leder und Partner in Frankfurt. On September 17, 1990, Grandke took up the post of city treasurer in Offenbach am Main. In 1993 he was elected Lord Mayor. After the end of his term of office as directly elected Lord Mayor of Offenbach am Main on January 21, 2006 and handing over the chain of office to his successor Horst Schneider , Grandke took over the position of managing director of OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH, a subsidiary of Helaba Landesbank Hessen- Thuringia . Since March 1, 2009 he has been executive president of the Savings Banks and Giro Association Hesse-Thuringia .
In the summer of 2006, he rejected a candidacy for the office of Prime Minister in the state elections in Hesse in 2008 .
Grandke is married and has two children.
Memberships
Gerhard Grandke has been a member of the Board of Directors of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale since March 1, 2009 . He is a member of the supervisory board of OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH, a subsidiary of Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen.
