The diocese of Gizo ( Latin Dioecesis Ghizotana , English Diocese of Gizo ) is on the Solomon Islands situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Gizo on the island of Ghizo . It includes the provinces of Western , Choiseul, and Isabel .

history

Pope John XXIII founded the Apostolic Vicariate of Western Solomon Islands with the Apostolic Constitution Christi regnum on June 11, 1959 from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern and Southern Solomon Islands .

On November 15, 1966, it was raised to the diocese of Laeta Incrementa with the Apostolic Constitution and took its current name.
