The Diocese of Hamilton in Bermuda ( lat . : Dioecesis Hamiltonensis in Bermuda ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Hamilton on Bermuda , a British overseas territory in the Atlantic Ocean .

St. Theresa's Cathedral

history

Pope Pius XII established on February 19, 1953 with areas of the Archdiocese of Halifax the Apostolic Prefecture of the Bermuda Islands. This was raised on January 28, 1956 Apostolic Vicariate of the Bermuda Islands and on June 12, 1967 to the diocese of Hamilton in Bermuda. The patroness of the diocese is Therese von Lisieux .
