The 112th US Open in 1992 took place from August 31 to September 13, 1992 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Park in New York .

The defending champions in the singles were Stefan Edberg for the men and Monica Seles for the women. The defending champions were John Fitzgerald and Anders Järryd in the men's doubles, Pam Shriver and Natallja Swerawa in the ladies doubles and Manon Bollegraf and Tom Nijssen in the mixed doubles . Edberg and Seles were both able to defend their titles in the individual competitions. Natallja Swerawa also repeated her success in women's doubles, but this time with Gigi Fernández .

In the men's singles , Stefan Edberg defeated Pete Sampras in the final . It was his second US Open title and his sixth and last Grand Slam success. With that he ousted Jim Courier again from the top of the world rankings.

In the women's category , Monica Seles won the final against Arantxa Sánchez Vicario . It was Seles' second triumph at the US Open and already her seventh Grand Slam title.
