The 139th US Open was the last of four Grand Slam tournaments of the season, the highest endowed tennis tournaments . They took place from August 26 to September 8, 2019 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Park in the borough of Queens in New York City ( USA ).
Defending champions in the singles were Novak Đoković for the men and Naomi Ōsaka for the women. Last year's winners were Mike Bryan and Jack Sock in the men's doubles and Ashleigh Barty and Coco Vandeweghe in the ladies doubles . The defending champions in mixed were Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jamie Murray .
Prize money
The prize money this year was around 57.24 million US dollars , more than at any other tennis tournament before. That is an increase of 8% compared to the previous year.
