The 110th US Open in 1990 took place from August 29 to September 9, 1990 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Park in New York .
The defending champions in the singles were Boris Becker for the men and Steffi Graf for the women. In the men's doubles these were John McEnroe and Mark Woodforde , in the ladies doubles Hana Mandlíková and Martina Navrátilová and in the mixed match Robin White and Shelby Cannon . Only Martina Navratilova could defend her title in women's doubles. In the men's singles , the only 19-year-old Pete Sampras , who defeated John McEnroe in the semifinals, defeated Andre Agassi a year older in the final . Sampras, for whom it was the first Grand Slam title in his career, is the youngest US Open winner to this day.
In the women's final , Gabriela Sabatini defeated the favored Steffi Graf. It was Sabatini's second and last success in a Grand Slam tournament.
