The diocese Irecê ( lat. : Dioecesis Irecensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Irecê in the state of Bahia .
history
The diocese of Irecê was established on April 28, 1979 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Qui in Beati Petri from ceding territories of the dioceses Ruy Barbosa and Barra and subordinated to the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia as a suffragan . On January 16, 2002, the diocese of Irecê was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Feira de Santana as a suffragan.
