The Blümelsbach (so the locally traditional spelling, which can also be found in the local dialect as Blimmelsbach ) or Blümelbach (so on more recent official maps) is a good 8 km long right tributary of the Felsalb in the West Palatinate ( Rhineland-Palatinate ). With its small tributaries, it contributes to the drainage of the hilly urban area and the western surroundings of Pirmasens . Within the boundaries of the city, it flows almost its entire length, only the mouth lies on the boundaries of the local community of Nünschweiler .

geography

course

The Blümelsbach rises in the middle of the Pirmasens urban area under the 60 m high stretch bridge , which was built in 1927/28 on the western edge of the city center and is classified as a cultural monument . First of all, the stream flows between the Pirmasens town center to the east and the Gersbach district to the north. Then he turns west and passes the district of Hengsberg , which is to the north. Through the Blümelstal (local dialect also Blimmelsdäälsche ), past the Windsberg district to the south, the Blümelsbach reaches the edge of the hamlet of Dusenbrücken , which belongs to Nünschweiler . There, just below the former site of the demolished Rothmühle, it flows from the right into the Felsalb, which in turn flows into the Hornbach , a tributary of the Schwarzbach . The Autobahn 8 (Pirmasens– Zweibrücken ) passes 300 m north of the estuary .
