Nünschweiler is a municipality in the Südwestpfalz district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Thaleischweiler-Wallhalben community .

Geographical location

Nünschweiler located between the villages Rieschweiler-Mühlbach in the northwest, Dellfeld -Falkenbusch the west and Höheischweiler the east. The busy federal road 10 used to lead through the district of Bärenhütte .

The Bärenhütte, Bärenhütterhof, Dusenbrücken, Huberhof, Mittelscheiderhof and Morschelweiher residential areas also belong to Nünschweiler .

Jürgen Beil (CDU) became the mayor of Nünschweiler on July 18, 2019. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was able to prevail against his predecessor Horst Wonka (SPD), who had held the office for 15 years, with a vote of 76.94%.

	Blazon : "In gold, a blue-armored and tongued red lion." It was awarded in 1930 by the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior .
	Reasons for the coat of arms: The design of the coat of arms is based on a misunderstanding. It refers to a court seal from 1758. As we know today, it was apparently not a local seal, but a private seal of an official from Pfalz-Zweibrücken .

Culture and sights

The parish church of the Catholic parish has a tower from the year 1054. With its one meter thick walls, it is true to the original.

The Protestant Church was built in 1906-08 according to plans by Karl Doflein .
