Petersberg is a municipality in the Südwestpfalz district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Thaleischweiler-Wallhalben community .
The Staffelhof residential area also belongs to Petersberg .
history
Petersberg was founded in 1711 or 1712 by three Rodalber citizens as an annex of the village of Rodalben . The first documentary mention in the baptismal register comes from the year 1714. As early as 1827, the Petersbergers made a written application to become an independent community. It was only after a few attempts in the meantime that this succeeded on April 1, 1955, when Petersberg became an independent municipality through state law of November 8, 1954.
At that time the place had only four streets, there was neither sewer nor sewage treatment plant, there had been a lack of building land for a long time and in the village school that was still in existence at that time there was even no toilet system. The place, which today no longer differs from comparable places, was largely created in the years after the company became self-employed.
