Blankenbach is a district of Sontra in the Werra-Meißner district in North Hesse .

Geographical location

The place is located directly on the former border with the GDR . The state road 3248 runs through the village. Blankenbach is located southeast of the core town of Sontra.

history

The village is first mentioned in 1332. Blankenbach is destroyed in 1375 and during the Thirty Years' War . Over 200 residents immigrated to America over the centuries.

The previously independent community Blankenbach was 1 July 1971 at the course of municipal reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis as a district by Sontra incorporated .

Culture

In Blankenbach there is a village community center with a room for the youth.
In addition, the shooting club and the volunteer fire brigade are accommodated in the new village community center .
The youth of the shooting club are successful at the district, Gau, state and federal level.
